Who we are
Atelier Nørd, Lda. (“Atelier Nørd”, “we”, “us”) is an architecture and design studio registered in Portugal, with studios at Rua das Flores 112, 1200-195 Lisboa and Rua de Miguel Bombarda 45, 4050-381 Porto.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can reach us at privacy@ateliernord.studio.

Data we collect
When you contact us through our forms or by email, we collect the information you choose to share — typically your name, email address, phone number, the location of your site, your project type, budget range and message.
When you browse our website, we may collect limited technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location (country or city) and the pages you visit. We do not collect special categories of personal data.

How we use your data
We use your data to reply to your enquiry, to prepare proposals, to manage projects we undertake together, to send occasional studio news if you have asked to receive it, and to improve our website.
We never sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (for example, when you submit a form), to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running and improving our studio and website.

Sharing your data
We share personal data only with trusted service providers who help us operate — such as our website host (Framer), email and file-storage providers, and accountants — and only to the extent needed. Where a project requires it, we may share relevant details with engineers, consultants or builders, always with your knowledge.
We may disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers
Some of our service providers may store data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months if no project follows. Project records are kept for as long as needed to deliver the project and to meet legal, tax and professional obligations — usually up to 10 years after completion.

Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ateliernord.studio. We will respond within one month.

Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
